Hegemony: the dirtiest word?

(The Newbie's stirring up trouble ...)

Where else am I going to have the opportunity to pick the brains of such a huge group of democrats, progressives, and just generally well-informed people?  I gotta ask it here!

If the US were to clean up its act regarding human rights, regarding war crimes, (and you know the Green Party member has to bring this one up) and regarding Israel -- would that change your perspective on the Neocon agenda for American hegemony?

I welcome any sort of thoughts or commentary.

The Avoidant Personality

MoveOn is asking me to volunteer for Get Out the Vote.

I don't drive.  I wouldn't be able to drive people to the polls.  So all I could really do is talk to them about why we need to vote Bush out of office.

This country is so polarized, I dread the subject of the election coming up in public.  I don't want to discuss it with anyone I don't know.  I don't want to discuss it with half the people I DO know, because they are Bush-supporters.  I can't stand all this conflict.

I'm scared to even put a Kerry/Edwards poster in my window for fear someone will vandalize my home or attack me or attack my boyfriend because of it.

I'm a coward, aren't I?
